Playing Rules

1.         Playing Conditions
The Laws of Cricket & rules within the FTGDCA senior handbook, except as varied hereunder, shall apply.

2.         Duration of Match & Nomination of Teams  
The matches will consist on one innings per side, each innings being   limited to a maximum of 20 overs.  Teams shall be 11 per side and shall be nominated on a team sheet prior to the toss of the coin.

3.         Hours of Play and Intervals
            Standard scheduled start and cessation time are as follows :
            First innings           1.00pm – 2.15pm approx
            Interval (10 mins)  2.15pm -  2.25pm
            Second innings     2.25pm – 3.40pm approx
          
4.         Length of Innings
Each team shall bat for 20 overs unless all out earlier.  If the team batting first is dismissed in less than 20 overs, the team batting second shall be entitled to bat for 20 overs.

5.         The Ball
            White two piece Kookaburra balls to be used in twilight/night matches.  Red two piece Kookaburra balls may be used for day matches.  One new ball shall be used for each innings.

6.         Umpires
            Each club is to provide a competent umpire who will officiate for the whole match. The Association will appoint two FTGDCA umpires for the final.

7.         Bowling Procedure
            Overs are to be bowled in 5-over blocks alternating between ends, ie. Overs 1-5 are bowled from one end, then Overs 6-10 are bowled from the other end etc.  
           
            At the end of each over, only the batsmen and two umpires change ends.   Apart from the normal field position changes, the fieldsmen only change after each five over block.  At the end of each 5 over block, the umpires and batsmen remain at the same end.

8.         Fielding Restrictions
At the instant of delivery there shall be not more than 5 fieldsmen on the leg side.   There are no other fielding restrictions.

9.         Bowling Restrictions
Bowlers are permitted to bowl a maximum of 4 overs per innings.   There are no batting restrictions.

10.       Result of Matches
            The winning team is to email or fax the total scores to Steve Brown on Fax 9752 4009 or stevebrown9@bigpond.com within 24 hrs.  
Eg   Eildon Park 7/143 def Johnson Park 10/133.    Individual performances are not required.

THIS IS A STATEWIDE CLUB ORIENTATED COMPETITION (Excluding Premier & Sub District clubs) WITH THE BEST METRO & COUNTRY TEAMS TO PLAY THE FINAL AT THE MCG.
