Shane Colee ups the Ante watch by Scott Wills KAF International Youth U/15's Super 8's CarnivalRecently David Cruse from the Knox Tavern in Wantirna South organised a combined team of boys from The "Auslanka Cricket Academy" , The Yarra Valley District and the Ferntree Gully District to compete in the "KAF International Youth U/15's Super 8's Carnival in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia on turf. Blake Glen from St. Johns Tecoma Cricket Club was given the opportunity and was the sole representative for the FTGDCA. The Royal Selangor Club was the main host with some games being played at Kinrara Oval. The combined "Auslanka" side was coached by former Sri Lankan Test Cricketer, Ravi Ratnayeke and Dav Whatmore, Australian test batsman & former coach of Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, travelled with the team as a guest of Cricket Malaysia. Other teams competing in the carnival were from Malaysia, Singapore, Penang, Indonesia, & Phuket, Thailand. The boys were away for a total of 5 days from the 6th-10th September. The carnival was held over 3 days & although "Auslanka" didn't perform as well as hoped, they had a great time, gained a lot of experience and mingled with a lot of new friends from different countries. This trip wouldn't have been possible except for the kind sponsorship from the following businesses, family & friends, for which Blake is very grateful-
